Kevin

Kevin, 7 years, is one of our success stories. Before therapy started Kevin was unable to lift his own head. Let alone stand or use his limbs.

Now after over 18 months of continued therapy sessions, he is able to WALK using special orthopedic shoes. He is a lively child, conscious of his surroundings, and likes to interact with people around him. (He smiles when he hears the word, "pogi")

A New Beginning
Our initial physical therapy project proved successful, with the physical condition of the children progressively improving. In an effort to make the therapy more accessible, KAP opened the Madapdap Therapy Center.

Growth
We have transformed an empty home into a space where physical therapists can provide their services locally for the residents of Madapdap and neighboring communities. The center has been fully functioning since November 2005, with a 100% growth in attendance over the past year.

Success stories include children who are now walking for the first time in their lives, as well as reinvigorated hope for others.

Partnerships
In addition to Kamay at Puso's activities, donations and grants from community leaders and friends of Tagalog On Site have brought new life to the center. Such generosity has resulted in groundbreaking surgeries, medical equipment, and nutritional/dental education for the children and parents of Madapdap. This synergy between Kamay at Puso and the community has resulted in improvements that weren't thought possible several years ago.
